Quantized Crow

Wading through digital compost.

That’s what it feels like to use the internet in the early 21st Century. Everything is content. It doesn’t need to be good, or even entertaining. It just needs to tickle a few neurons and keep us engaged. And, as I’m sure you know, by doing this the people and the algorithms that dominate the internet learn about us. What we like, what we hate, and what advert best sells to our “demographic.” The end result is an neurotic ecosystem where everything is nicely categorised and packaged for us to consume. Bereft of curiosity–it’s boring!

So I made my own little website. It is an unremarkable but tranquil spot beyond the city walls. No data collection, no adverts, just the things that I think and have thought. I emplore you to do something similar.

I’m Nick Werren, a quantum physicist, and Quantized Crow is the home I created for meandering long-form essays on science, culture, and the strange crossroads at which they meet.

Thanks!
